Celosia Xantippe Celosia spicata 75cm
Bushy annual, branched from the base. Foliage green. Inflorescences cylindrical, oblong, branched dense feathery spikes, 6-8 cm. long, 2-3 cm. in diameter. Colour flesh-Pink. Flowering from July to frost. With its neutral pale Pink colour, 'Celosia Xantippe' makes an excellent filler for mixed bouquets, dried flowers, ideal in the garden borders and as a greenhouse pot plant. Excellent for drying.

To Dye Celosia Xantippe Flowers: After harvest, dip the stems into a bath of water soluble paint. Blow dry the stems with heat and ventilation. Place the stems in water overnight.

The cultural information should be used as a guide only, I have found a number of different sowing techniques for the same seed from different sources there does not seem to be a standard. With this in mind you should use this website as a guide only, you probably already have a tried and tested way of sowing different seeds. As a rule of thumb the larger the seed size the more cover it requires, and fine seed like Lobelia, Begonia etc requires no cover.
