Summer and Winter Squash, Vegetable Spaghetti, Ornamental Squash Seeds
Squash

Squash are best eaten at the immature stage such as a courgette, they should ideally be picked a few days after flower bloom, when the fruits are young and tender. Most popular as mini veg. Sow indoors early spring onwards into blocks/pots or modules harden off before transplanting into final position. Sowing in situ sow 2 seeds per station after last frosts, thinning to the strongest one.

Winter Squash ideal for containers and gardens plant spreads up to 1M. Smaller and sweeter, there is no acorn squash like Honey Bear. With its small, single-serving size and a weight of less than 500g, it's just right for today's on-the-go families. The yummy sweet taste that's much better than many acorn squashes, will have even the kids eating their vegetables. The compact, bush plant takes up no more room than a zucchini plant. High level of resistance to powdery mildew. Plant height up to 1m with 3 to 5 fruits per bush. From sowing to 1st harvest approx 100 days. Full maturity approx 50 days from pollination. Harvest when dark green and bottoms of squash are yellow to orange where it has touched the ground. Honey Bear is ideal for baking and serving in the half shell.
Do not disturb roots when transplanting, plant out at 60cm apart 1-2M between rows.

The cultural information should be used as a guide only, I have found a number of different sowing techniques for the same seed from different sources there does not seem to be a standard. With this in mind you should use this website as a guide only, you probably already have a tried and tested way of sowing different seeds. As a rule of thumb the larger the seed size the more cover it requires, and fine seed like Lobelia Begonia etc requires no cover.
